If you live in Arizona, you know most of us try to live in the swimming pool to escape hot days. Slather your body up with some strong SPF and cool off in your pool as needed. We’ve got a pool on the ranch, but if you don’t there are community pools and club houses in practically every neighborhood. We are also big fans of escaping the heat at a trendy hotel with a nice pool to chill the day away. In fact, we are dying to get our butts over to The Scott to indulge in their new renovations and enjoy a pool day. The days are hot, the nights are warm and the pools are cool. Add a delicious cocktail, taco bar and outdoor lounge to your mixture and you’ve got yourself your own pool party! (more…)
Okay, so you know when you get invited to be a part of a really cool project (in this case, an event) with really talented people that you’ve admired? This next event is just that… We were asked to be a part of a beautiful dinner under the stars in Joshua Tree, California with our new friends at Moonrise Standard. They’re all about bringing people and communities a stronger connection with their food and the farmers that grow it. They want to educate their dinner guests the importance of how their food got to their plate and why it is valuable information to know. We love their mission, love their style, and overall, really just love what they’re doing. So when they reached out, we of course said yes!
When we first started running an event based company, we thought we could do it all. We thought we could make paper products, put together flower arrangements, plan full weddings… you name it! To be honest, we were doing it all, and we were doing it all well. We were proud of the work we were creating and it looked nice, which is a win/win. It wasn’t until we started to grow and expand into different areas of the event world did we realized we needed to tone down what exactly it is that we were offering, and be a little more picky about what full service events we plan and put together. We’ve enjoyed planning and coordinating full weddings, but the small events are more our jam. Bridal showers, dinner parties, and baby showers are some of our favorites. Baby showers are always so fun! You’re celebrating the life of a new human… how insane, right? This baby shower that took place at a private estate by Camelback Mountain was one of those smaller events that we agreed to plan and put together.
A while back, our good friends Christina & Rob, the creators and talent behind New Darlings, reached out to see if we had any interest in helping them throw an backyard dinner party. They had put together a FEED dinner party, in hopes to feed some of those in need of meals. FEED is a wonderful organization who believe that food has the power to bring many together, and together, we have the power to bring food to many. By hosting dinner parties (FEED calls them FEED Suppers), you’re able to invite your guests to help give back to those in need. The best part is that 100% of the proceeds raised from your FEED Supper is directly donated to their partner, Feeding America. So, of course we wanted to be involved. And boy are we so happy we were a part of such a fun and important night.
Okay, so to be completely honest, we have been sitting on these photos from Constance Higley for about a year, waiting for Easter to roll around so we could share them as well as some really simple recipes from Handle the Heat & Brendan McCaskey to make your Easter dinner a knock out!
Tara & Eric Hainsworth are the too cool for words owners for Hainsworth & Co, a salon focused on educating and inspiring their employees as well as branching out to offer education within the hair industry. Tara has worked with us on past events, like our Babes & Braids events, and I even was going and getting regular hair cuts at one point with her. Which, by the way, were some of the best haircuts I had received. She explains her process and what she is doing, so you as a client understand that she not only knows what she is doing but wants you to know what she is doing.
